Gravity Ice washing instructions
Caring for your Gravity Ice gravity blanket cover isn't difficult. The fabric we use from 100% organic bamboo viscose is naturally durable and long-lasting, but with a few extra steps and a little love, you can keep it soft, comfortable and stain-free.
Here are the best care tips, so you know exactly how to wash your Gravity Ice cover.
How to wash the Gravity Ice cover

1. Separate it from the rest of your clothes
Avoid potential damage to the fabric by separating it from other clothes, including towels. If you have a large collection of bamboo viscose, schedule a wash day just for them.
2. Turn the fabric inside out
To avoid any damage during washing in the washing machine, turn the Gravity Ice cover inside out and close the zipper before washing.
3. Wash with cold water
Always wash bamboo covers in cold water with a maximum temperature of 30C. For longer use, wash them on a gentle cycle.
4. Use a mild detergent
Choose a mild, liquid laundry detergent that is biodegradable and do not use a large amount.
5. Do not use fabric softener or bleach
Bamboo viscose is a naturally soft fabric and will remain super soft after washing, so we recommend skipping the fabric softener. And while you're at it, leave the bleach out. Instead, consider adding a little distilled white vinegar to the wash cycle as a natural fabric softener.
6. Remove stains
Enzyme-based stain removers or a small amount of heavy-duty detergent, such as Tide or Persil, are safe to use on stains on bamboo fabrics. Work a small amount into the stained area and let it sit for at least 15 minutes before washing. To remove specific stains, follow the instructions for that particular stain type.
7. Dry naturally
The Gravity Ice cover should be air-dried naturally in the sun. If faster drying is required, use the low heat cycle of the dryer. Remove the fabric while it is still slightly damp. High temperatures in the dryer can shrink the bamboo fabric.
8. Iron at low temperature
Keep iron temperatures low. If ironing is necessary, use a dry iron (no steam) on a low setting. Extremely high temperatures when ironing can burn bamboo fibers. Burning or yellowing occurs as the fibers begin to burn. While some discoloration can be removed, burned fibers cannot be revived.
How to wash the gravity blanket that is inside?

As for the gravity blanket, you can wash it less often than its cover, i.e. once a year, once its period of use is over, e.g. Gravity is used only for the winter and Gravity Ice for the summer months.
Below are instructions for washing the gravity blanket in the washing machine or by hand.
1. Remove the cover from the gravity blanket
There are internal ties that you need to untie. before removing the cover. Unless there has been a spill or urine accident, only the cover should be washed regularly. The cover should be washed separately from the gravity blanket.
2. Wash the gravity blanket
Washing in the washing machine
- Check the capacity of your washing machine to make sure it can handle the weight and size of the blanket. The blanket should be washed on its own.
- Follow the recommended water temperature, wash cycle, and detergent recommendations for the fabric type (cotton). Set the washing machine accordingly and wash the blanket.
Hand wash
- If you are hand washing your blanket, clean your tub thoroughly to make sure there are no products or dirt that could stain the fabric. Fill the tub with cold or lukewarm water and add the recommended detergent. Stir the detergent into the water to make sure it is well mixed.
- Submerge the blanket in the water and detergent solution. Make sure the entire blanket is submerged. Gently squeeze the water out of the fabric. Let the blanket soak for at least 15 minutes.
- Lift the blanket out of the soapy water and empty the tub. Refill the tub with cool, fresh water. Gently squeeze the water out of the blanket.
- Empty the tub and refill it. Repeat the washing process until there is no more suds. Dry the tub and gently squeeze out the excess water. Do not wring.
3. Dry the gravity blanket in a dryer
The only type of gravity blanket that can be safely dried on the low heat cycle in a tumble dryer is one that has glass beads inside, as they do not melt. All Prosleep gravity blankets are filled with glass beads, so there is no need to worry.
If you want to dry naturally, then Spread the blanket on a layer of plastic sheeting or a plastic tarp to protect the floor. Evenly distribute the filling if it has shifted. You can help absorb excess moisture by pressing fresh, dry towels onto the surface.
Let the blanket dry flat. Turn it over every four or five hours to speed up the drying process. It will take 24 to 48 hours to dry completely.
